In the evergreen vein of unlikely friendships, Max and Unicorndog may be one of the unlikeliest pairs yet. When a birthday wish goes awry, Max is stuck with Unicorndog. She’s part dog, part unicorn, and maybe part corndog (the jury’s still out on that one). The problem is, neither of them know what Unicorndogs can actually do. Play fetch? Be majestic? Do magic? None of those things seem very likely. But as it turns out, unicorndogs do make pretty good friends. Unicorndog might not be what Max wanted, but she’s exactly what he needs. (Probably.) Told through comic panels and full-page illustrations, each book is divided into three distinct chapters that are perfect for kids who are just learning to read. Mike Lowery is the New York Times bestselling illustrator of Drew Daywalt's No Sam series, Mac Barnett's Mac B, Kid Spy series, and Max Greenfield's I Don't Want to Read This Book.
